Training

The North Columbus Jaycees offers a variety of opportunities for training to increase your leadership and communication skills. These training sessions are offered at a variety of different levels to fit your need and budget.

Chapter Level

The North Columbus Jaycees generally offers training through out the year. These sessions usually have some type of committee work or Individual Development project, followed by a workshop presentation by a chapter member or an outside speaker. These sessions are usually free for the chapter member or at a very reduced price (less than $10). The chapter pays for most of these presentations through our fundraising projects. If you have priced the cost to attend a workshop lately, then you can see the value of your membership. If you attended one of these workshops outside of the North Columbus Jaycees, you could expect to be well over your yearly membership dues. Some of the training titles that we have offered are as follows: "Motivating People", "Resolving Conflict", "Service and Leadership", "The Leader as a Coach", "Building a Team", Goal Setting and Planning" as well as many others.

State Level

The Ohio Jaycees offers training to Ohio members periodically though out the year as well as during the two state meetings (All-States) and State Convention held each year. Most of these sessions are free for members or at a reduced cost (usually under $20).

National and International Level

The United States Jaycees and Junior Chamber International offer training at all of their meeting and conventions. See their websites for more information.
