The NCJC's first Easter Egg Hunt was held on the Ohio Statehouse Lawn in 1988. We received some nice publicity for the Chapter. As new NCJC members, Lynda & I chaired the inaugural event. Lynda supplied the pink Easter bunny suit, worn by our daughter Kandie. Lynda had worn the bunny suit many times previously at Jaycee Easter Egg Hunts in Michigan before we moved to Columbus.

The event was moved from the Statehouse Lawn the following year as the lawn was torn up due to renovation. Subsequent hunts were held at various parks in the North Columbus service area. Later events included a balloon launch with prizes for the longest flight and a raffle of a large stuffed bunny. I always believed the Easter Egg Hunt was an important tool for recruiting new members. Every parent who attended was of Jaycee age and had a family - prime candidates for membership!
